As a busy working Mom running a business at home it can be challenging finding ME time. So for the new year I've been trying extra hard to carve out that time for myself by running on the treadmill while the kids are sleeping before anyone wakes up. It's something I am doing for me and I am enjoying my quiet time.
What is one thing that you do for yourself or would like to find time to do for yourself?

Permalink Reply by Martine De Luna on January 25, 2012 at 10:16am I wake up in the morning and meditate first thing, right after I've brushed my teeth and dressed. I go out on our veranda, just before the sun rises, and journal in a REAL journal, not a blog. Whether I write one sentence, or a thought, or an entire paragraph, what's important is that I encourage/motivate myself for the day ahead. Then I have my iced coffee, my favorite morning indulgence(!) just before prepping breakfast. Every other day, I do mat exercises, Pilates-style; it's good for strengthening my back since I have scoliosis.
I also set aside time in the afternoon (after lunch, specifically) to take a power nap. I usually do this when my toddler is taking his nap, but I just steal a snooze for about 15 minutes.
I'd like to find time to do more cardio exercises!
Coffee at my desk. Without fail, it starts my day even after my morning workout. Whether in my office or working from home, it proudly sits on my desk.
Permalink Reply by Sarah Wagner/USAlovelist on January 25, 2012 at 11:15am I play competitive tennis. The matches, lessons, and court times are scheduled long in advance and others are counting on me to show up so I never miss it. It is a great way to get my head and my body moving on something outside of work. It is social, it breaks up the day, and it keeps me active.
Permalink Reply by Molly Shalz on January 25, 2012 at 11:38am I have started to work out. I don't do it every day but little by little I am working it into my weekly routine.
Permalink Reply by Tina Seitzinger on January 25, 2012 at 11:45am I am trying to go to the gym 3 times a week and I'm trying to limit myself online. This really helps me work more efficiently and spend time with my kiddos!
Permalink Reply by Teri Lynne Underwood on January 25, 2012 at 11:50am I schedule an hour of unstructured time into every day. I can use it to catch up on work or around the house ... or to watch a favorite TV show or read. It's non-negotiable on my schedule.

I've given some thought to starting to mediate or do Yoga for some relaxation time.

I cannot imagine mornings without coffee. I usually have a cup at 3pm too!

Permalink Reply by Jackie Park-Cross on January 25, 2012 at 1:08pm I try to get up early every morning and hit the treadmill and in the evening I like to read before going to bed. I can get lost in a book and forget about everything that happened that day.
